Consent and Boundaries

  • Consent is mandatory: All interactions—physical, verbal, or emotional—require clear, enthusiastic, and ongoing consent.
  • Boundaries are sacred: "No" is a complete sentence. Pressuring, coercing, or manipulating someone to change their boundaries is prohibited.
  • Negotiate clearly: Before any scene, play, or intimate interaction, all parties must discuss expectations, limits, safewords, and aftercare.
  • Respect safewords: Safewords must always be honored immediately, without question or judgment.

Respectful Communication

  • Use people's correct names, pronouns, and titles
  • Avoid making assumptions about others' roles, experiences, or identities
  • Listen actively and speak thoughtfully
  • No interrupting, talking over, or dismissing others' contributions
  • Engage in constructive dialogue, even when disagreeing

Prohibited Behaviors

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal:

  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or assault
  • Coercion, manipulation, or predatory behavior
  • Outing or doxxing (sharing someone's private information without consent)
  • Discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, orientation, disability, religion, or any other identity
  • Intoxication or drug use during meetings or events
  • Non-consensual photography, recording, or sharing of member information
  • Violating confidentiality agreements
  • Soliciting members for commercial purposes

Reporting Violations

If you experience or witness a Code of Conduct violation:

  1. Immediate safety concerns: Remove yourself from the situation and notify leadership or designated safety personnel immediately.
  2. Non-urgent concerns: Submit a written report to leadership via our secure contact form or private FetLife message.
  3. Anonymous reporting: An anonymous reporting option is available for those who prefer not to identify themselves.

All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and confidentially. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for all members.

Conflict Resolution

Informal Resolution

Members are encouraged to resolve minor conflicts through direct, respectful communication. If needed, a neutral third party (e.g., co-facilitator) may mediate.

Formal Grievance Process

For serious violations or unresolved conflicts:

  1. Submit Written Complaint: Send a detailed account to the Safety Officer or leadership team
  2. Investigation: Leadership conducts interviews and gathers evidence
  3. Hearing: All parties have the opportunity to present their perspectives
  4. Decision: Leadership determines appropriate action, which may include:
    • Mediated conversation and reconciliation plan
    • Temporary suspension from meetings
    • Permanent removal from BKSC
