What is the registration fee for Naija5Fest tournaments?
The registration for Naija5Fest tournaments consists of two components:
Sponsor Product Purchase: Each team must purchase the designated sponsor product for the month they are registering for. The product and price vary by month and sponsor. For example, January registration requires the purchase of Rehau's Raha Cola 6-pack at ₦15,000.
Processing Fee: There is a standard processing fee of ₦4,600 per team.
The total registration cost typically ranges from ₦16,600 to ₦22,600 depending on the sponsor product for that month. Early bird registrations for future tournaments often come with discounted rates.
When is the registration deadline for each tournament?
Registration deadlines for each monthly tournament are typically two weeks before the tournament start date. However, since each state has a maximum capacity of 32 teams, registration may close earlier if all slots are filled.
We recommend registering as early as possible to secure your team's spot. The registration status for each state can be viewed on our interactive state map on the homepage, which shows how many slots are remaining in real-time.
Early bird registration for future tournaments is available up to three months in advance at discounted rates.
Can I register for multiple tournaments at once?
Yes, you can register for multiple tournaments at once. After completing your registration for the current month's tournament, you'll have the option to register for future tournaments at early bird rates.
Multi-tournament registrations offer several benefits:
Discounted rates (save up to ₦2,100 per tournament)
Guaranteed spots in future tournaments
Ability to plan your team's schedule in advance
Option to pay in installments for multiple registrations
You can select which future months you want to participate in during the registration process.

7-14 days before the tournament: 25% refund of the processing fee

The Year-End Championship is always held in Lagos at a premium venue that can accommodate the scale and prestige of the event.
Venue details for each tournament are announced approximately one month before the event and communicated to all registered teams.
What are the rules for substitutions?
Naija5Fest follows a rolling substitution system:
Teams can make unlimited substitutions throughout the match
Players can be substituted in and out multiple times (re-entry is allowed)
Substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of play
The referee must acknowledge and permit the substitution
The player being substituted must leave the field before the substitute enters
Substitutions must be made at the designated substitution zone (near the halfway line)
This rolling substitution system allows teams to manage player fatigue effectively and utilize their entire squad throughout the tournament.
Improper substitutions may result in a yellow card for the player entering the field and a direct free kick awarded to the opposing team.
What happens in case of a tie during knockout matches?
In case of a tie after the regular playing time (two 10-minute halves), matches proceed directly to a penalty shootout. There is no extra time period.
The penalty shootout format is as follows:
Each team takes 3 penalties initially
If still tied after 3 penalties each, the shootout continues in sudden death format
In sudden death, each team takes one penalty until one team scores and the other misses
All players on the field at the end of the match must take a penalty before any player can take a second penalty
Only players who were on the field at the final whistle can participate in the penalty shootout
The goalkeeper who finished the match must be the goalkeeper for the penalty shootout (unless injured)
The referee's decision on all matters related to the penalty shootout is final.
