Overview
The Set List is a gift registry app for building brick sets. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (managed securely by Google Firebase Authentication). We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Profile Information: Your optional display name, which is used to personalize your shared list.
- Set List Data: The building brick sets you add to your owned list and wishlist, including set names, numbers, themes, prices, and priorities.
- Share Data: Your share code and sharing preferences, and gift reservations made by friends on your list.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to provide The Set List's core functionality:
- Authenticating your account and syncing your data across devices
- Displaying your sets and wishlist within the app
- Allowing friends and family to view your shared list and reserve gifts
- Preserving gift surprises by hiding reservation details from the list owner
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, analytics, or any purpose beyond providing the app's features.
Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and Firebase Authentication. Data is encrypted in transit (using TLS) and at rest. Your password is never stored in plain text — Firebase Authentication uses industry-standard hashing.
Sharing and Visibility
- By default, your set lists are private and visible only to you.
- When you enable sharing, your wishlist and owned sets become visible to anyone who has your unique share link. You can disable sharing at any time.
- Gift reservations are visible to other gift buyers (so they know an item is taken) but are hidden from the list owner to preserve the surprise.
- We do not share your data with any third parties.
Third-Party Services
The Set List uses Google Firebase for authentication and data storage. Firebase's own privacy policy applies to the infrastructure services they provide. We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or social media trackers.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
- You can delete all your set data at any time from the Settings screen within the app.
- You can request full account deletion by contacting us at the email below.
- Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.
Children's Privacy
The Set List is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can exercise these rights directly through the app's Settings screen or by contacting us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
